Associate Professor
Dept. of Management and Engineering
University of Padova
Simone Mancin graduated with distinction in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Padova (2005) where he also gained the PhD on Industrial Engineering (Applied Physics) (2009). He is Associate Professor at the Dept. of Management and Engineering of the University of Padova, where he teaches Applied Physics. His research activities are mainly focused on the experimental and numerical analyses of single and two-phase (both condensation and evaporation) heat transfer inside microgeometries and nanostructured materials aiming at developing innovative solutions for smart, efficient, and compact heat exchangers for refrigeration and air conditioning, and electronics cooling applications.
In 2013, he spent a period as Visiting Researcher at the CTRC (Cooling Technologies Research Center) directed by Prof. S.V. Garimella, at the Purdue University (Indiana, USA); more recently (2015, 2018) he has been Visiting Researcher at Queensland Geothermal Energy Centre of Excellence, directed by Dr. Kamel Hooman, at University of Queensland (Brisbane, AU). Currently, he is Visiting Professor at the Brunel University London, UK.
He is member of IIR-International Institute of Refrigeration, B1 - Thermodynamics & transfer processes commission
He is author and co-author of more than 130 scientific papers published in several peer-review International Journals and in Proceeding of National and International congresses; moreover, he is co-author of an Italian text book entitled: “Elements of Gasdynamics”. He acts as reviewer of several scientific international journals: International Journal of Refrigeration, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, Experimental and Thermal Fluid Science, International Journal of Thermal Sciences, Energy, Advances in Engineering Software, Journal of Heat Transfer.
